Using the Useful Links section of our site.

In our site we have a section titled Useful Links that contains a variety of headings that bracket together a number of relevant and interesting articles and information posts that may be helpful to anyone who uses our site.

Last night I had cause to put one of these to the test, as a great friend that Viv and I met and got to know and appreciate during our recent rounds of training experienced the emotional rainbow that accompanies having a close family loved one pass away.

I wanted to send a message to them that expressed our love for them while at the same time offering encouragement for the future and to let them know that we are also here for them, at any day and at any time.

Seeing as I often struggle to find what is the best thing to say when it comes to matters of the emotions I thought that I would seek some professional help when it came to the actual content of the wording for what we wanted to say.

I went to the sub section: 'Cards, Messages & Memories' and then into 'Obituarieshelp.org' and scrolled down the page and came to the following choices:

Other words of condolence resources you might find helpful:

1 Send Fruit Baskets for Sympathy - customer reviews of fruit baskets, sympathy food baskets and sympathy fruit baskets
2 Send Sympathy Flowers - reviews of the best florists to order flowers online for delivery
3 Sample Letter of Sympathy Condolence - samples for many situations and people.
4 Condolence Phrases - what to say to the family of the deceased.
5 Condolence Message - samples of condolence letters.
6 Condolence Examples - meaningful letters of condolence examples.
7 Free Condolence Letters - condolence letters you can copy.
8 Sample Letter of Sympathy - words to offer your sympathy.
9 Sympathy Sayings - short sayings that express sympathy.
10 Messages of Sympathy - messages of sympathy cards and letters.
11 Words of Comfort for Sympathy - Words to say that comfort people.

I clicked on Number 8 which brought up a choice of several letters. I chose the heading:

Sample Letters of Sympathy for an Old Friend

I then amended one of them and came up with the following:

'Dear XXXX,

I am writing to express how sorry Viv and I for your loss.in the passing of your xxxx.

We wish that we could be with you right now to support you, to help you, to hold you, and to pray with you. But even though we are miles apart, we're still here for you at any time to talk, to listen, and to encourage you. We'd really love to hear from you - just give us a call when you are ready.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

With love and sympathy,

Graeme & Viv

As you bring brightness and encouragement to others so we wanted you to also have the opportunity to reflect on the many ways that your mother brought the same values to life in you'.

Next it was time to choose an appropriate card. For this I went to 'Jacquie Lawson. Artist' and looked at the range of over 200 available cards to choose from.

After making my choice, it was then time to preview the card in order to satisfy myself that it was appropriate and expressed the feelings that we wanted to convey.

Once I was happy with the card it was then time to add the message into the card, preview it again, and then send it.

Here is the reference to the actual card that we chose.

The PS of our letter was added once we saw how the card revealed itself.

So there it is, just one way in which our 'People and Pet friendly' site can be used.

I encourage you to try it for yourselves.

By the way, should you come across any article that you believe would be appropriate to add to our site then please send me a message at Graeme@wherethereisawill.com.au.
